Thanks to the namesake service, I recently started posting one favourite track every day, just for fun. They end up in this playlist on Apple Music. You can follow the daily additions via RSS, on the Fediverse or on Bluesky.

2026-03-16 Arcane & Jon1st - Bloodstone from Bloodstone EP (Defrostatica, 2022). The debut EP of the dream collaboration team ends with an epic slowfast track. It is literally the last track on the label that was released on vinyl. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-12 Oriol - Night And Day (from Night and Day, Planet Mu 2010). The album is hard wired with my tumblr era of joyful discovery, expression and web optimism in general. It's the perfect summer album by a mile. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-11 Rebel MC - I Can't Get No Sleep (from Word Sound Power, 1992). The album that connected hip hop and proto jungle breakbeats with a proper political stand, I rinsed this record so many times! | listen elsewhere

2026-03-10 Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Hi-Tech Jazz. One afternoon in the early 2000s, DJ Till recommended the 12" at Freezone Records, saying that I should really get to know it. At the time I only bought jungle and drum and bass. He revealed the connection between 4hero and Underground Resistance, which I had not known about before. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-09 Underworld - Cowgirl (from Dubnobasswithmyheadman, 1994). DJ and club culture basically reinvented the group after two mid albums. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-08 Generate - Imagination (Missingsense Remix) from Engines EP (Antilounge, 2013). Drama slowfast music that defies first floor mentality without being aimless. Check out the original as well. | listen elswhere

2026-03-07 Dispondant - Jazz Solo from Acid Jazz EP (Defrostatica, 2018). Lightweight footwork track by the Londoner with a big impact on me and Sun People as well. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-06 SB81 - Reversal (Narratives Music, 2018). Seven and a half minute of perfect tech step. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-05 Herbaliser - A Mother (For Your Mind). Today's crucial track is based on the prompt "A song you've seen performed live". It was Ninja Tune night in late 1996 at Conne Island, Leipzig featuring The Herbaliser, DJ Vadim and DJ Food aka Coldcut. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-04 Agzilla - Observers from Cats Can Hear Ultrasound (Metalheadz, 2018). Outerworldly sounds from Iceland's finest. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-03 B12 - Hall Of Mirrors. One of the first techno records I bought was Hall of Mirrors by Musicology on the B12 label in 1992. When they went to Warp Records a year later they changed their alias to B12. Tune is timeless and the synth line is still the shit. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-02 Protect Ryan - Contact (Gutterfunk, 2022). I first came across the mysterious Bristol-based trio with the Party Tracks for Horse Girls EP, which has had two more releases on DJ Die's label since then. Contact is not only a fantastic opening tune, but also has an epic ending. | listen elsewhere

2026-03-01 D*Note - D*Votion from Babel (1993). I'm still amazed by the restraint to release the breakbeat just 30 seconds before the end. Much later I learned about the important context of the "Come Out" sample used in the beautiful track. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-28 4hero - Loveless feat. Ursula Rucker from Two Pages (Reinforced, 2000). "The embrace, now an anaconda's grip, unmerciful and swift, swift with the killing." | listen elsewhere

2026-02-27 Samotek - Lydia from Side Quest EP (Defrostatica, 2025). He's a master at creating tension through space, deliberately using footwork and phonk aesthetics in contrast to strummed keys. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-26 Sci-Clone - Hold On (Metalheadz, 1999). Thanks to Kemistry & Storm's K7 mix CD, 'Everywhere I Go (Remix)' was all the rage back then. To me, Sci-Clone's masterpiece is this jungle-jazz fusion at 160 bpm — it's so cool and epic, and it warms a drummer's heart all at the same time. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-25 DJ Rashad - Who Da Coldest from Itz Not Rite EP on Planet Mu, 2010. This is my fave DJ Rashad tune by far - acid juke and footwork with the hardest clap. Sorely missed, RIP. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-24 Alexandra Love & Beef Wellington - Empress To the Night. I discovered Beef Wellington's album 'Feel Fantabulous' on the show The Wire and then found this collabo gem while I was looking for more of his music. This kind of soul/r'n'b reminds me of 4hero so hard. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-23 Jacob's Optical Stairway - The Fusion Formula (The Metamorphosis) [feat. Juan Atkins] on Reinforced Records, 1995. Dollis Hill meets Detroit, enough said. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-22 Sinistarr & Kiat - Black Diamonds (Hospital, 2009). Beautiful scenes. The world needs an album from this top tier team. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-21 Wiley - From The Outside (Special Request VIP) [Big Dada Rec., 2015]. What song makes you feel like you're in a different country? 'I've been in the wrong system, the wrong territory, for way too long.' | listen elsewhere

2026-02-20 Patrik Cure - Smile This is the End from the Hybrid Hooks compilation on Defrostatica in 2021. Perfect track title of a baaad club track on 155 BPM. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-19 Submerse - Give It Up. Part autonomic, part postdubstep, part beats - the 2012 'They Always Come Back EP' on R&S' sublabel Apollo still sounds fresh. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-18 Ital Tek - Gonga (µ-Ziq Remix) from Gonga EP on Planet Mu, 2011. The original is amazing but the remix by Mike Paradinas is timeless. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-17 Flora Purim - Open Your Eyes, You Can Fly (1976). First time heard the bassline on ‘Bug Powder Dust’ by Bomb The Bass. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-16 Kiat - Brooklyn (Agzilla Remix) from Leipzig EP on Defrostatica, 2016. One of my favourite tracks remixed by one of my favourite producers. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-15 Bah Samba feat. The Fatback Band - Let the Drums Speak (Harvey Lindo Edit) on BKO Productions 2005. Perfect Sunday groove. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-14 Ryuichi Sakamoto - ZURE (Cornelius Remix) from async remodels, 2017. Inhale. Hold on. Exhale. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-13 Samotek & Utelka - Way Back 4 U (Defrostatica, 2026). It takes some muscle to make it right, especially to the ones we love. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-10 Paradox - Kickdat (Paradox Music, 2018). He's a b-boy at heart and you can hear the influence in many of his tunes but this 132 bpm breakbeat tune is the bomb! | listen elsewhere

2026-02-09 Sun People - Never (Serenity EP), Modern Ruin 2018. This timeless classic featuring an iconic sample is probably my favourite tune by the Graz producer. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-08 Gescom - Cicada (Gescom EP, Skam 1994). Strong 115 bpm signals from Manchester to Detroit. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-07 Mako & Andy Skopes - In The Raw (dBridge Remix), 2010. It's the B-Side of the first release of Makos label Utopia Music, 6:26 minutes of pure bliss. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-06 Skinnz - Burn Me (Super, 2011). One of my fave post dubstep era tunes is actually by Sam Binga, I found out today. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-05 Inner City - Whatcha Gonna Do With My Lovin' (Def Mix) 1993. Epic remix by David Morales and Frankie Knuckles, with a surprise in the second half. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-04 Kenny Larkin - Tedra (Warp 1994). I discovered the track on the Various Artists compilation called 'Virtualsex' that had extra red-blue glasses for the 3D artwork. Tune is timeless. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-03 Machinedrum - The Statue from Room(S), 2011 on Planet Mu. Witnessing his live performance in 2012 was a game changer. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-02 Visioneers - Hurt So Bad (feat. Carina Andersson) from Marc Mac presents Visioneers – Def Radio (2024). Marc Mac is one half of 4hero, enough said. | listen elsewhere

2026-02-01 Acid Lab - Listen (2025). Dub Techno Drum and Bass at its best. | listen elsewhere

2026-01-31 Photek - 124 (Modus Operandi, 1997). Untouchable. | listen elsewhere

2026-01-30 Innerzone Orchestra - The Beginning of the End (1999) · It's Carl Craig feat. Lacksi-Daisy-Cal doing a hiphop track on 110 BPM. | listen elsewhere

2026-01-29 Opal Drums · Sarsen Cinema (Sarsen Cinema EP, 2025). Opal Drums = Jon1st + Mux Mool. Sarsen Cinema is a hot 110 BPM bop. | listen elsewhere

2026-01-28 Ultra Naté - Twisted. Produced by 4Hero in 2002. Trust me, watch this. | listen elsewhere

2026-01-27 Digital · Ras 78 (X Nation Remix). Digital: “When Ras 78 was released it was a big step forward for Function in creating its own identity. This is a pivotal release in every direction.” | listen elsewhere

2026-01-26 Curve - Want More Need Less (from Gift, 2001). Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine is on the guitar, what else do you need to know? | listen elsewhere

2026-01-25 M/A/R/R/S · Pump Up the Volume (UK 12" Mix, 1987). The uneasy collaboration between A.R. Kane and Colourbox sampled "I Know You Got Soul", by Eric B. & Rakim, which was released prior in the same year. | listen elsewhere

2026-01-23 Hone Sound - Lockdown (from Original EP, 2026). Cold Dub Techno Breaks at 134 BPM on Defrostatica Records. | listen elsewhere
